Hi I am Samaira. I am 13 and I bake treats to raise money for animals at my local shelter.
How it started?
I started baking because I loved experimenting with new recipes and making desserts for my family and friends. Then I realized I could combine two things I really love, baking and animals, and Samaira’s Barkery started.
Now I bake treats for people to enjoy and the money I raise helps animals at my local shelter. When I am not baking I am usually hanging out with my family and friends, playing with my dog or practicing my dives.

Why I bake?
I am hoping to raise $1000 to support dogs in local shelters. This money can help provide food, blankets, toys, and medical care for pups who need it most. Together we can reach this goal.
All the treats I bake are for people to enjoy but the reason behind them is the animals. Every dollar I make goes to my local shelter, the SPCA, to help dogs who are still waiting for a home. Shelters don't always have enough to give them everything they need, and that's what I'm trying to help with.
My goal and impact:
My goal: raise $1,000 for my local shelter for food, blankets, toys, and medical care for the pups who need it most.
About $600 raised so far and every single dollar goes straight to the animals. I don't keep any of it.

Mentorship
Teaching younger kids to bake
Every weekend I teach a baking class for kids ages 6 to 11. I picked kids younger than me because I wanted to learn how to lead and guide a group.I make a lesson plan before each class so we know what we're making and the steps
We start with the recipe and staying organized, then move to the fun stuff
We decorate, work with fondant, and try new things together
My favorite part is watching the kids get more confident and excited about what they made
